Following the completion of a successful large residential project for the developer, they approached us with a duo of Central London prime residential lateral apartments.
Just off Sloane Square, and in one of the most sought after residential squares in London, demolition was already underway and the design had to be conceived and delivered in a matter of days.
As the two apartments were being built speculatively, there was a need for a sensible and appealing specification for the systems within the property, appealing to the target market for these large scale prime residential properties.
Integrating the blinds within the Homeworks lighting control system, allowed us to match the Lutron keypads with the décor, and combine the blind controls into one simple keypad, all engraved (in French) to make use intuitive for the new owner.
Clever design and integration with the cabinet makers allowed the centralisation of the Lutron dimming panels and processor, in a hidden full height joinery section.
As the project progressed, both apartments were sold to a new owner, and some new systems added to the specification.
With a third party BMS system running newly installed heating and air-conditioning systems, there was a requirement for a control interface which was user friendly. No problem…working with the BMS engineers as a team, the client now has…
A Control4 in-wall touchscreen gives status for all systems at the entry and exit of the property, working with a single Control4 controller, and the Honeywell heating and Mitsubishi AC systems.
Linked into Control4 via the dedicated network in place, the new owners can use a simple smartphone App to set the temperature, lighting and even music on arrival at their London apartment, regardless of whether they are arriving from cold (Switzerland) or hotter climates (Dubai).
This system also allows us to diagnose and check the systems are operating correctly, as part of an ongoing support and maintenance programme for the client.
Fully managed Wifi across all rooms ensures robust and speedy connection to the Internet is seamless across the apartment. The client has learnt to depend on this, enjoying streaming their music to the multi-room audio system, or casting content from mobile devices to the TV screens.
This has been useful for accessing TV service and YouTube content in French into their UK home.
