Working with one of our established electrical contractor partners, we were called in to discuss a set of six standard apartments, designed for rental, along with two higher specification duplex penthouses with integrated systems planned from the outset.
We developed a scheme which gave the rental apartments a full connectivity package, to residential TV distribution, incoming broadband (offering wired and wireless options) and connection to the door entry system, via the Comelit system. Simple, but capable of addressing even the most demanding tenants.
For the penthouse level, the specification expanded to address lighting control (via Lutron Homeworks lighting with SeeTouch keypads) and future blind automation.
With Crestron touchscreens, there is the capacity for full integration with Lutron, the Comelit intercom and Samsung HVAC control system.
These higher standard apartments also have enhanced HD video distribution and broadband connectivity across the duplex apartments.
From the roof dish and aerial array, down to the access control for two doors at ground level, the pace of the project was fast and on a strict timescale.
Working with the main contractor, for whom we had completed two other projects, keeping ahead and staying ahead was our key priority.
Coordinating the completion of each apartment, and then working as a unit on the penthouse levels, the systems were installed, checked and commissioned in a week.
Building the Lutron dimming panels and their connection looms offsite, and bench testing the Crestron and Comelit integration before delivering the actual components to site, we were able to link the cabling on site and set the programs in place.
By liaising with the door suppliers, the two external decorative doors were prepared with the access control mechanisms as part of the manufacturing process so they could be installed, linked to the access control system and commissioned.
This enabled the handover of the apartments to take place on deadline.
