The third project for one of our key main contractors in just over a year, this project required strict adherence to an AV / M&E consultant specification.
Using the platform of Control4, the project required:
No problem.
The overall specification of the home network (including a home office and whole house Wi-fi) needed to enable other systems to “play well with each other”
Pakedge routers, ethernet switches and whole house Wi-fi. Delivering a solid platform for the Control4 system, and within budget.
Quickly getting up to speed and linked into the design team was paramount.
Co-ordination of all the drawings with the architect, interior designer and main contractor ensured that the design met everyone’s expectations before a cable was run.
A full “pre-plastering” walkthrough ensured the multiple Lutron lighting panels, speaker backboxes and extensive network of internal and external cables were good to go!
With discrete design touches and impeccable finishes, by a leading London interior design company, the AV systems needed to fit in.
Equipment in the central hub, on walls and in ceilings, and the faceplate, speaker and keypad locations – all important to the final overall look and feel of the home.
Invisible plaster finish speakers by Amina preserve the clean look of the rooms
Matched metal finished Lutron keypads, engraved to the owner’s exact request
Dedicated AV rack, with all network, AV and security equipment installed and finished neatly.
Regardless of whether or not aspects of the install were in plain sight, everything was considered.
With the high levels of finish, the simplicity of the ultimate system was key to satisfying the new owner.
SkyQ and Kartina Russian TV as central AV sources, accessing UK and worldwide TV is just a case of two button presses on a remote.
Built in Spotify playlists are accessed straight from a touchscreen, or can stream from the client’s own iPhone into the chosen room, automatically.
Integration with the CCTV allows cameras to be called up from touchscreens, for total peace of mind.
Personalised scenes on the Lutron system are simple to select with engraved buttons, automated with blinds and curtains.
Adding Bowers & Wilkins AM1 speakers to the roof terrace brought that area into the overall system, ready for the summer.
Commissioning the home office was key, alongside securely linking personal devices to the whole house Wifi system.
Handing over the project is only half of delivering the system.
Supporting the owner once they start to use the system, enabling them to refine things as they use them is invaluable.
Using the power and flexibility of the Pakedge network, we are able to check individual components and even reset /power cycle devices.
Through secure virtual support, we can also work with other colleagues (security, heating, cooling, CCTV) in setting up and monitoring their devices.
